I don't have the devices deployed to the client site yet, as I'm trying to make sure they work first. I was under the impression, these Valcom devices, should operate the same way. Other ATA devices I've setup, normally I can dial the extension of the ATA and have it pick up, to access the speaker. Yet Mitel rarely does and I've been able to call other Mitel ATA devices from the outside and access the overheard talk-back speaker. I've tried reaching the device like I would a normal ATA device, just dialing the extension directly (3086 or 1958) and seeing what happens, by means of dialing their outside line, then dialing the extension directly from the auto attendant, which realistically, if they setup permissions correctly, shouldn't work.
SCREEN GRABBER PRO NOT GETTING MY VIP PASSWORD
I'm under the assumption as Authentication Name should equate to Username and Secret to Password as well. When testing, I've never heard that tell-tale ATA device "click", and I've verified the devices make the sound by sending test pages to them via the Valcom Tool, which granted doesn't do a SIP init, it just sends a paging multicast to the device. I also went through some of the settings and verified, to the best of their knowledge, that what Mitel gave me is really all I should need to plug-in to make these things work. I've already reached out to Valcom support, and was told the devices auto-answer on SIP init, then audio handling is done via programming on the device, but it should answer though, no matter what, as long as it's registered and receives the SIP. They still haven't told me even that small piece of information, and now want to wait until Tuesday the 2nd before even talking to me again. I've tried calling Mitel and even getting them to tell me if they see the devices registered has been like pulling teeth. "COS" always screws me up, because my brain always defaults to Class of Service in regards to L2 frames, versus PBX stuff. I agree, in theory, this *should* be a doable, albeit somewhat jury rigged. If you do, reach out to Valcom and tell them your scenario. Press that new page key and enter one of your speakers (extension#) and see if you get the unavailable again. How are you trying to "page"? I would try programming a key on your phone for Direct Page (Superkey, Settings, Programmable Keys, choose a blank key and program it for Direct Page. From your picture, I'm assuming that the authentication name and secret equate to the username and password that they gave you. If they are registered, then they have something wrong, un-registered, you have something wrong. I feel like they will be un-registered, but that will tell you more about where the problem lay. They can tell if they are registered or are waiting for registration. I would call them and ask if they can see those devices on their side. The "Unavailable" that you are seeing, means, more than likely, your speakers are not registered. Your extension needs to have several COS options set to allow group paging and the speakers need to have group page accept enabled. Looking through the forms, this should work in theory. I've used the VIP-102B IP Solutions Setup Tool to access one of the paging devices to get it programmed, and plugged in the information in what seems like the correct places, but I'm unfamiliar with these particular Valcom VIP-801a devices, let alone getting them working with MiCloud.Īfter plugging the information in and rebooting the device, I tried calling the auto attendant and dialing the extension to see if it picks up or what happens, it doesn't answer, just get "Unavailable" recording and goes to voicemail.Īnyone have experience getting a third-party, or specifically a Valcom SIP/ATA device programmed for use with Mitel MiCloud? I've already contacted Mitel and gotten the MAC's of both devices registered with seat licenses, and Mitel provided me the extension, username, password, and teleworker IP

I'm trying to get a pair of Valcom VIP-801a SIP paging speakers setup, connecting to Mitel MiCloud service
